Varitek goes deep

OAKLAND - Jason Varitek has gone deep in the ninth. Boy has he turned his fortunes around the last two days.

The homer gives the Red Sox a 5-0 lead in the ninth.

Bryan Corey (1-1/3, one hit, two Ks) has pitched well in relief of Jon Lester, but we'll see Delcarmen for the ninth.
