Welcome Back!

Here at Fenway, even the players are watching the NBA playoffs (Arlington's not too far from San Antonio, and San Antonio apparently isn't too far from losing to Phoenix). We've got Game 2 of this weekend's wraparound series, with Jon Lester (1-2, 5.31 ERA) facing the Rangers' Jason Jennings (0-3, 8.79)

Your rundown (all 18 players included), and notice one Mr. Lugo back in the lineup in the last spot.

Texas (7-10)
1. Ian Kinsler, second base
2. Michael Young, Shortstop
3. Josh Hamilton, center field
4. Hank Blalock, third base
5. Jason Botts, first base
6. David Murphy, right field
7. Gerald Laird, designated hitter
8. Adam Melhuse, catcher
9. German Duran, left field

Boston (11-7)
1. Jacoby Ellsbury, center field
2. Dustin Pedroia, second base
3. David Ortiz, designated hitter
4. Manny Ramirez, left fielder
5. Kevin Youkilis, third base
6. J.D. Drew, right field
7. Jason Varitek, catcher
8. Sean Casey, first base
9. Julio Lugo, shortstop

Some numbers for you:

.134 -- David Ortiz's batting average after hitting safely in four of his last five games. He sent a bomb to the Green Monster Friday night that gave him the eighth grand slam of his career, seventh with the Sox.

2 -- The number of starts since Jon Lester's last win, April 2 at Oakland

4 -- The number of Rangers hitters who have actually faced Lester. Hank Blalock (1 for 2), Ian Kinsler (0-1), Gerald Laird (1-2), Michael Young (1-2).

Game's about two hours away, I'll try to figure out a way to keep busy. Here with Nick Cafardo, who's all over Manny Ramirez pretty much shrugging off Kyle Farnsworth's suspension.

Back later.

  1. As someone who scores just about every game, I really appreciate the additional info.(opposing teams standing, pitchers era and W-L and yesterday the Rangers'
uni #s -also the extra tidbits) in addition to getting the rosters early.
I like to have everything filled out so I can just concentrate on the game. From here I go to other sites to get BA, OBP, SLG and Umps if it's a new series.
Thanks, I hope you can keep it up.

  1. Damn, I was hoping Lugo would get a few more days of rest since Lowrie is playing so well.
