What goes up...

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff April 25, 2008 07:12 PM

...doesn't necessarily come down.

Dustin Pedroia just hit a towering fly ball that somehow lodged itself up in the catwalks above the field at Tropicana Field. Left fielder Carl Crawford and third baseman Evan Longoria just kept waiting and waiting for it to come down, as it seemed to be headed for foul territory. But it didn't.

Someone was up on the catwalk, and headed over to see if he could find the ball. Pedroia, clearly determined to foul out, finished his at bat by popping up to first base -- in foul territory.
