Yankees score two

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff April 17, 2008 09:07 PM

Josh Beckett had been holding the Yankees at bay -- but that doesn't usually last for long.

Tonight he made it until the fifth inning, when he allowed a walk to Melky Cabrera, a double to Johnny Damon, and a two-RBI, two-out single to Derek Jeter. That was followed by a double by Bobby Abreu that J.D. Drew had enough trouble on that Jeter came all the way around to score from first base.

It's now 7-3, Red Sox, and John Farrell just had a meeting with Beckett on the mound.
