Yanks put up four in the fourth

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff April 16, 2008 08:53 PM

NEW YORK - Not a good day for Clay Buchholz. The young Sox starter was bounced with two outs in the fourth when the Yankees hit him hard and often in amassing a 7-3 lead after four innings.

The big hits were a Chad Moeller double (knocked in one) and a Derek Jeter single (knocked in two). A Julian Tavarez wild pitch allowed the fourth run to score.

Buchholz allowed seven runs on eight hits in 3-2/3 innings.
