A few things....

So Jed Lowrie gets the nod in the Metrodome with Julio Lugo's head hurting after his collision last night. Lugo is going for tests right now to determine how severe a concussion he has. He said he felt dizzy and had headaches and almost came out of Friday night's game.

Lowrie was placing short and batting ninth. Alex Cora is playing shortstop at Pawtucket tonight and he likely will be up tomorrow night while Lowrie could go down. But that might depend on Lugo's condition. Sean Casey, playing first base in Pawtucket, likely will be up tomorrow as well. It appears that Craig Hansen would go back to Pawtucket.

J.D. Drew is getting the night off against lefty Glen Perkins, but Jacoby Ellsbury gets the start in right field while Coco Crisp is in center.

  1. Enough is enough with this Craig Hansen shuttle. The guy has to stick around! The only way he's going to learn to retire Major League hitters is to FACE Major League hitters. He's 24 years old now.

Keep him here, under Coach Farrell's tutelage, and watch Hansen become an elite set-up man and spot closer.

  1. Here we go again! Francona burned out Foulke (and probably put Timlin in motion) because he panicked about the capability of his bullpen, and now he is about to destroy Papelbon's caree for the same reason. You actually can't pitch someone 4 out of 5 games just because you have no managerial skills. Two people need to go - Francona and Lugo.
