Ran into Jon Lester's father, John, near the field before the game. He said he's doing well, all things considered, after being diagnosed with lymphoma. He said he has two more chemo treatments left, but said he felt OK. "Considering what other people are going through who have it worse, I'm very fortunate," he said.

Kevin Youkilis likely will play tomorrow night, with the Mariners pitching Erik Bedard. Youkilis's sore right hand is improving.

Bobby Kielty was re-instated from Pawtucket's seven-day DL and transferred to Single A Lancaster. Kielty is returning from a broken left hand.
