David Ortiz just added to the fun, hitting his own home run just inside the right field foul pole for his ninth of the season. It was a low pitch that he took out of the ballpark from Carlos Villanueva.

Clearly the Sox just want to get this one over with early -- there's a basketball game to watch this afternoon!

(There are quite a few basketball fans among the Red Sox, including Ortiz and Alex Cora. Terry Francona's another one. He and Doc Rivers tend to text back and forth.)

It's 3-2, as we head to the fourth.
