Bailey on way to B'more

Posted by Gordon Edes, Globe Staff May 30, 2008 12:10 PM

The Sox have summoned Jeff Bailey from Pawtucket to join them in Baltimore, but it's still uncertain whether he'll be activated for the series against the Orioles. It all depends on whether the Sox place Daisuke Matsuzaka on the DL. Matsuzaka was scheduled to undergo an MRI this a.m.

Bailey has been a hot hitter for the PawSox, hitting two more home runs last night in Pawtucket to give him 16 for the season.

  1. sure, Dice K goes on the DL, so bring up a slugger who will eat pine for a week or two, get cold, then be sent back to Pawtuckett.

WHERE and WHEN exactly would Bailey play? Unless there is more to this Youkilis "sor hand" injury then we're being led to believe???

  1. Get rid of TIMLIN and there will be room for Bailey...

  1. 1. Retire Mr. Timlin.

    2. Get rid of Mr. Wakefield. Or use him to serve up home-run balls in batting practice. Those who can, pitch. Those who can't, throw the knuckleball.

    3. Explain to Mr. Matsuzaka that it is not acceptable to issue eight base-on-balls during his six-inning stints. Sorry, but despite his won-lost record, he has been a bust.
