Beckett rocked; Drew hurt

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff May 13, 2008 08:20 PM

BALTIMORE - The third inning took a terrible turn for the worst.

First J.D. Drew hurt his left wrist trying to dive to make a catch on Freddie Bynum's single. He had to leave the game and was replaced by Jacoby Ellsbury, who had been nursing a sore knee.

Beckett allowed four singles and a three-run homer by Luke Scott. Kevin Millar's single knocked in a run as well. Beckett had allowed singles to Brian Roberts and Bynum to start the inning, but then struck out Nick Markakis and Aubrey Huff.

It's 5-3 Orioles in the fourth.
