Buchholz escapes again

Posted by Nancy Marrapese-Burrell, Globe Staff May 2, 2008 10:24 PM

Red Sox starting pitcher Clay Buchholz got out of his second straight jam. In the top of the third inning, he allowed second baseman Akinori Iwamura to reach on a single and he then walked left fielder Carl Crawford. However, he rebounded from that, striking out three in a row - Jonny Gomes for the second straight time, Carlos Pena and Evan Longoria.
