Buchholz gets out of a jam

Posted by Nancy Marrapese-Burrell, Globe Staff May 2, 2008 10:02 PM

After walking back to back batters in the top of the second, Buchholz and the Red Sox managed three straight outs to keep the game scoreless. The most impressive was when Rays third baseman Evan Longoria tried to score from second on shortstop Jason Bartlett's hit into the outfield but Sox right fielder Brandon Moss, playing shallowly, gunned a throw to catcher Jason Varitek at home to get Longoria at the plate.
