Drew returns

Posted by Barbara Matson, Globe Staff May 3, 2008 04:57 PM

Right fielder J.D. Drew returns to the Sox lineup tonight. He hasn't played since suffering a strained left quad during his first at-bat Tuesday night against Toronto.
Manager Terry Francona said Drew was OK. "We waited until today so he would be OK,'' Francona said before the game. "We'll see how things go tonight for tomorrow's lineup.''

Still waiting for Rays lineup. Tampa Bay's starting pitcher is righthander James Shields (3-1, 2.54), who pitched a two-hit shutout against the Sox Sunday in Tampa.
