Ellsbury Show comes up empty

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff May 31, 2008 07:17 PM

BALTIMORE - Jacoby Ellsbury walked, advanced to second on lefty Garret Olson's errant pickoff throw (yes, another Orioles error), stole third (his 24th), but was stranded when Manny Ramirez's bid for homer No. 500 fell to the warning track in left-center for the third out in the first inning.

The large Boston contingent here at Camden Yards rose to its feet, but the drive was hauled in by Jay Payton.
