First pitch? Gone...

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff May 6, 2008 08:46 PM

Just like Hideki Okajima -- whose first pitch in the big leagues was a home run by John Buck -- Freddy Dolsi just got a rude introduction to the majors.

Manny Ramirez. Home run.

It went an estimated 427 feet, out to straightaway center field, and it tied him with Harold Baines for 26th all-time in RBIs. It was Ramirez's 497th home run of his career, as he closes in on 500.

Along with the home run to David Ortiz, off Nate Robertson, it was the first time the Red Sox have gone back-to-back this season. It's now 5-0, Sox.
