Foulke on for the A's

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff May 25, 2008 06:00 PM

OAKLAND, Calif. - In this 4-3 game (A's on top), Keith Foulke has replaced Joe Blanton to open the seventh inning. This is good news for the Red Sox, trying to avoid a sweep.

Blanton retired five straight batters after allowing a bases-loaded two-run single to Manny Ramirez in the fifth, striking out four of the five. He had thrown 107 pitches and manager Bob Geren felt that was enough.
