Giving up shots

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff May 18, 2008 01:41 PM

That home run by Ryan Braun, which landed in the second row of the Monster seats, was the third shot hit by three Brewers hitters. The homer, Braun's 12th of the year, came on a hanging breaking ball.

Though Josh Beckett did get one out so far, that was on a rocket that Julio Lugo made a nicely timed jump to snare. That was followed by a bashed double down the left field line by Mike Cameron, then the two-run homer by Braun.

We'll have to watch how Beckett settles (or doesn't settle) down.

He did just strike out Prince Fielder on a curveball for the second out of the first inning.

It's 2-0.
