That was the first RBI (and second) for Mike Lowell this season, as Lowell took a Jeremy Bonderman offering out to left field. Scoring ahead of him was Manny Ramirez, who had doubled to center to lead off the second inning.
Lowell's last home run and last RBI came Sept. 29 of last year against Minnesota. That was the longest RBI drought of his career.
It's now 2-0 Red Sox.
Daisuke Matsuzaka did struggle a bit with his command in the first, walking back-to-back batters, though he got out of it by inducing Miguel Cabrera to fly to center.
