HR for Ortiz

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff May 17, 2008 04:44 PM

David Ortiz just slammed a fastball over the Green Monster to put the Red Sox up by a 4-0 margin. Jacoby Ellsbury and Julio Lugo scored on the homer, which was Ortiz's eighth of the season and came on a full count.

The Brewers have now had a lot of trouble with two different pop ups in the sun, both of which were caught. On the last one, popped into foul territory by Manny Ramirez, Joe Dillon was looking lost in front of first base when Rickie Weeks flew out of nowhere to make a stellar catch in foul territory. He went quite a long way on that one.

  1. The home run didn't actually go over the Green Monster...just into it.
