Jacoby sets up sixth Sox run
Jacoby Ellsbury has had quite a night. A home run, two singles and a stolen base.
Ellsbury set up Boston's sixth run when he singled to lead off the 7th, stole second and scored on Dustin Pedroia's single. Weird play in the 7th when first baseman Mark Teahen allowed David Ortiz' pop up to the infield to drop. He was able to recover and force Pedroia at second base.
Attendance is 37,674. Rain is scheduled to come in around 10. Trying to beat the clock.
Sox are in good position to win their sixth straight.

What do you mean "the Sox could be back into a first-place tie."
I thought the Red Sox were one game ahead of Tampa before the day began.
"Sox could be back into a first-place tie"
What could you mean by this? The sox are at this moment 1.5 games up. Nothing that could happen would put them in a tie tonight.
First place tie with who? They already have a 1.5 game lead on TB.
1st place tie?????/ better check the standing.......the sox will be up 2 1/2 games???
first place tie with who? the soz are already 1.5 games up on TB
First place tie? Won't they be 2 games ahead if they win tonight?
Hey Nick,
Do you know how standings work? If the 1st place team wins and the second place team loses then a game is gained in the standings. This is not a difficult concept to grasp!
Hey Nick... love your work.... but don't mean they will be up 2 games??
Why would the redsox be tied for first place. They already are in first place. They would pick up a game on the rays? Am i wrong?
What do you mean "first place tie" Don't you look at the standings? The Sox are two games up now!
First place tie? we're two games up on the Devil Dogs(granted we have one more loss) ...what are you talking about?
First place tie ?
Uhhh...the Sox were already in first place by a game. The win + the Rays' loss means we're up 2 games.
does that remark really deserve 13 responses?!
