Lugo and Francona ejected

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff May 27, 2008 11:47 PM

SEATTLE - Julio Lugo seemed to be protesting a check swing call on Raul Ibanez when third base umpire Angel Hernandez must have heard too much about it. He ejected Lugo, who kept protesting, and after manager Terry Franona came out to defend his player, he, too, was tossed from the game in the fifth inning.

The Sox, who already lost Daisuke Matsuzaka to an injury, are down, 3-0, in the sixth.

  1. I'd really like to know what Loser Lugo said to get Martinez so wigged out. Lugo should keep his mouth shut and his eye on the ball. Maybe that way he'd check his errors. Those in glass houses...
