Magadan tossed

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff May 24, 2008 12:28 AM

Hitting coach Dave Magadan was ejected by home plate umpire Tim Tschida in the sixth inning, with J.D. Drew at the plate. We're not entirely sure why Magadan was thrown out, but it's possible that it had to do with arguing balls and strikes with Kevin Youkilis at the plate.

Tschida could be seen mouthing, "He knows better than that," while talking to Terry Francona on the field.

Huston Street is now on to pitch the ninth with the A's up 8-3. If the Sox don't come back, this would be the end of their seven game winning streak.
