Masterson moved up

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff May 28, 2008 06:12 PM

Not sure what this means, or if it might affect the rotation in Boston, but Justin Masterson has been moved up from Saturday to Thursday in the Pawtucket rotation.

Masterson, who was scheduled to make his Triple A debut Saturday, was pushed up to Thursday night against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre at McCoy Stadium.

Clay Buchholz is scheduled to start Friday for Pawtucket in a second rehab start with Triple A.

With the day off, there is the possibility that Tim Wakefield could be moved up to start on normal rest on Monday in Baltimore with Masterson throwing Tuesday for the Sox.
