Rays making it interesting

Posted by Nancy Marrapese-Burrell, Globe Staff May 3, 2008 12:03 AM

It appeared the Red Sox were on track to win easily but Tampa Bay isn't going away quietly. The Rays turned a 6-1 deficit into 6-3 before Javier Lopez gave way to righthander Manny Delcarmen in the top of the seventh inning. Justin Ruggiano and Jason Bartlett both scored unearned runs on Lopez, who lasted one and a third innings. Delcarmen came on in relief with two out. Although he walked Jonny Gomes and gave up a hit to Carlos Pena, he struck out Evan Longoria to end the inning.

  1. How much more of the middle releif disaster can we take?Lopez,Delcarmen,Timlin are all ineffective.I can't belive i miss Snyder as much as i do,and that's not a good thing.Tito is a loyal guy but if we don't get some help all the good starting pitching we be going to waste.
