Sneaking through

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff May 7, 2008 10:24 PM

Dustin Pedroia, up as a pinch hitter for Jed Lowrie, just slipped a single past a diving Carlos Guillen into left field. That scored J.D. Drew from second base, and moved Julio Lugo to second.

Pedroia smacked his hands together at first base -- perhaps just a bit jazzed.

It's now 9-8, Red Sox.
