Sox looking for a hit

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff May 24, 2008 10:05 PM

OAKLAND - The Red Sox traded Justin Duchscherer to the Texas Rangers back on June 12, 2001 for Doug Mirabelli.

Tonight the former Sox farmhand has retired 12 straight batters. Duchscherer is 1-0 with a 2.66 ERA vs. Boston as a reliever (six earned runs in 20-1/3 innings). He's very effective at Fenway where he owns a 1.10 ERA (two earned runs in 16-1/3 innings) over 10 appearances.
