Sox lose again

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff May 29, 2008 12:11 AM

SEATTLE - The Red Sox are now 1-5 on the West Coast leg of this 10-game road trip.

The Sox bowed to the Mariners, 1-0, at Safeco Field before 30,752 as the trio of Erik Bedard, Brandon Morrow, and J.J. Putz held the Red Sox to two hits, wasting a nice performance by Tim Wakefield, who went eight innings in the loss.

The Sox had runners on first and second in the ninth as a result of two walks by Putz, but Coco Crisp grounded to second to end the game.

  1. I can't wait till they trade Coco and sit Lugo for Lowrie. Don't bother with free agent signings, Theo.

  1. I think the problem goes far beyond Coco and Lugo.

The Sox as a team are not hitting...they are incosistent this whole entire month.

Sox are lacking "energy" - energy as in the desire to actually win the ballgame - confidence.

It better stop by the time June comes around, or we'll watch the Rays and Blue Jays take total control of the AL East.

  1. This team is beyond pathetic on the road. The Road Sox ugh! Well they can be comforted by looking at their rings every night as they are losing. Way to step up.
