OAKLAND - Julian Tavarez has asked for and received his release from the Pawtucket Red Sox. He is now a free agent.

Am I right in thinking that Manny's troubles at the plate coincided with Tavarez being sent down?

Manny definitely has not looked the same since Tavarez was cut.
