Weather update from the Sox
The Red Sox PR staff just provided us with this weather update:
The current weather forecast (provided by the Red Sox private weather service, Meteorlogix) in the vicinity of Fenway Park calls for a possibility of some light rain showers during the late afternoon and evening hours.
The Fenway Park gates will open at the regularly scheduled time of 5:05 p.m., and the Red Sox expect that tonight’s game with the Milwaukee Brewers will begin on-time at 7:05 p.m. However, the Red Sox want to alert our fans to the current forecast.
This forecast is of course subject to change as the day progresses. Additional updates will be provided as necessary.

You told us the forecast for the rest of the night. What's the weather like at Fenway right now?I've got tickets for tonight's game, but I'm contemplating not coming down because weather.com says heavy rain around Fenway for the rest of the night and until tomorrow morning without many breaks. Please give us another weather update as soon as possible.
The Sox always do this to us, and it's really frustrating. They are going to make 36,000 people travel in to the game (in the rain) and sit around for hours while they decide if they should start a game by 10 pm. Anyone with access to a weather radar can see the rain is starting, it's steady and it's not going to stop until tomorrow morning.
I wonder what that "private" Red Sox weather service is? Sox employees who are paid to ignore the weather?
The team has done an excellent job of fan relations in the Henry era. This, however, is the one area in which they absolutely continue to act in their best interests and not ours.
Exactly. Open the gates, get the fans in, have them pay at the concessions as the delay drags into the night, then decide to postpone the game.
Any updates on the weather in the last two and a half hours?
Rain for two days and then me and then rain for two more days and then me; it all works out!
I suggest no one leaves home until the tarp starts to come off of the field.
Give us an update! What the heck!
