Bye bye!

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff June 28, 2008 08:12 PM

That pitch was blasted.

With two on and two out, Mark Loretta smashed a home run out to left field, giving the Astros the lead at 5-4. Though it didn't seem to be an issue, because the training staff left him in, but that home run came on the first pitch after Jon Lester was drilled by a single off the bat of Miguel Tejada.

That also ended Lester's stretch of 11 straight starts in which he's allowed three earned runs or fewer, as all the runs today have been earned.
