Colon struggles

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff June 16, 2008 07:22 PM

PHILADELPHIA - Bartolo Colon has been awful here in the first inning. The Phillies have unloaded for three runs on a pair of home runs.

Jimmy Rollins hit a leadoff homer on a 1-0 pitch he pulled to right field, the 28th leadoff homer of his career, and after Shane Victorino doubled deep to left-center Chase Utley struck out. But Ryan Howard stroked a 1-0 pitch to the opposite field for a two-run homer.

It's 3-0 but the inning isn't quite over as Pat Burrell just walked.
