Drew's sacrifice trims lead 2-1

Posted by Baxter Holmes, Globe Correspondent June 23, 2008 10:09 PM

With the bases loaded and one out, J.D. Drew hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield allowing Julio Lugo to tag up and score from third. The run cut Arizona's lead to one run, 2-1. Lugo reached first on a walk and advanced to third on singles from Jacoby Ellsbury and Dustin Pedroia.

Manny Ramirez hit a blistering line drive down the third base line that would've scored Ellsbury, but Arizona third baseman Mark Reynolds made a great catch to end the inning.
