Ellsbury not in lineup but injury appears minor

Posted by Gordon Edes, Globe Staff June 6, 2008 04:27 PM

Sox manager Terry Francona said that outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury had an MRI this morning that came back negative, a huge relief to the player and organization. Ellsbury is not in the lineup, but he may be available to pinch-run, the manager said, It's doubtful that he'll take any BP. The injury is still being called a strained right wrist.

  1. Where did Tito do his medical school training and residency? The way he was questioned after the game last night, one would presume that he was between cases in the O.R.

  1. I feel bad for him, watching the replay of him hurting that wrist makes me cringe. I hope his wrist is okay and can't wait to see him up at bat again

  1. I have been dreading an injury to him that might make him set out a couple of games or two. He has set out too many as it is but still has the highest number of steals with less at bats. His stats are good and I sure would like to see him selected as AL Rookie of the year. And why was he not on the ballot for the All-Star game???

When he comes back - just put him in CF and leave him there, for heavens sake. He is too good to be platooning.

    GO JACOBY!
