Javier Lopez couldn't get anyone out, walking Evan Longoria and giving up a single to pinch hitter Willy Aybar. So manager Terry Francona replaced him with reliever Craig Hansen with the tying run at the plate in the form of pinch hitter Jonny Gomes (for Eric Hinske).
