Left behind
With two outs, Manny Ramirez and Mike Lowell had back-to-back singles, both right up the middle into center field. But Jason Varitek's shot deflected off pitcher Doug Davis and he was out at first on the throw from 3B Augie Ojeda.
Boston, by the way, now bathed in a golden light, with the dark sky as backdrop. Looks a bit like Oz.
