Manny Ramirez extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a 2-run homer -- his 14th of the season -- in the first inning against Seattle Mariners pitcher Miguel Batista.

On a 2-0 count, Rameriz bombed it over the Green Monster, scoring J.D. Drew who tripled in the previous at-bat.

Manny ties Eddie Murray for 23rd all-time on the MLB homer list.

  1. That should be 23rd on the all-time HR list, not the Red Sox HR list, especially since Murray never played for the Sox.

  1. Hey Baxter,

I suppose you mean he's tied with Eddie Murray for 23rd all-time since Eddie didn't play for the Sox and only Jimmie and Ted are ahead of Manny in Sox history.
