Manny, Youks "moving on"
Neither Manny Ramirez nor Kevin Youkilis discussed what caused their dustup last night in the dugout, but both players said they were past it.
"It's good, it's over, a new day,'' Youkilis said as he walked past reporters.
Manny spent a couple of minutes talking to reporters.
"Everything's good,'' he said, later adding: "A misunderstanding. Even the best families have them.''
According to three sources, Manny had raised objections to Youkilis throwing equipment around in the dugout after flying deep to center in the fourth inning, and advised him to "cut that (expletive) out. Youkilis apparently didn't take kindly to the remark, said something, and Manny swiped at him.

TOO funny, Gordon.
Figures none of the 'speculation' was right as to what set Manny off. All the nonsense that he didn't get out of the clubhouse fast enough during the scrum - thanks for dispelling it.
This doesn't qualify as Pulitzer stuff, but hats off to you for having developed enough confidence amongst the team and staff that you can get three corroborating sources. It is a measure of the fine work you have done that you are able to 'break' such a compelling story, lol.
Manny - gotta love ya ! Get after your kids to clean up their rooms, not your teammates!
Well... the best way for them to move past this is for Manny to put Youkilis on the ticket as his VP. If he doesn't, I'm buying a Yankees hat.
The problem is that with Manny's accent a "Y" sounds like a "J". It really gets under Kevin's skin...
If that is true, then frankly, good for Manny. Yes, I know it's only Youklis's competetive nature coming out. But enough already with the grimaces on every pitch that's called a strike and other unnecessary displays of emotion.
What would Joe Dimaggio do?
My two cents.
This is so not Manny.... What happened?
I do think Youkilis does tend to go off all the time when he fails to have a good at bat. he needs to control that more but the altercation with Manny and him was unnecessary, Neither guy was right.
Youkilis is one ugly MOFO.
Youk's a surly punk. He's never seen a called strike that was legit, and his over-the-top histrionics are embarrassing. You are winning. And you are a very, very good player. Passion is good, but take a deep breath, mack.
I'M 78 years old, never saw so many over paid jerks playing baseball . I't a shame now a days to see such foolishness, these players are just plain overpaid jerks. The days are gone in sports when you see players trying for positions on shear love and abilities going for them in spring training, now they report late or don't give a hoot for others playing beside them...too bad..those days are gone forever
Took a swipe? come on, we have the video now....Ramirez bitch-slapped Youkilis....clear as day....both he and Crisp are disgraceful.....macho bravado masquerading as camaraderie......give us a break!
BEAT LA!
BEAT LA!
BEAT LA!
BEAT LA!
Manny's an over-pretentious showboater.....bah. He only changed his personality an starte talking to the meia this year to sway favor in order to pickup his 2009 option. We'll see this guy in pinstripes before long.
Youkilis is THE MAN!! Good for him being the consumate professional. HE is the GLUE of the Red Sox and a REAL MAN!!
Until this I used to love every Manny being Manny moment... but now, never NEVER hit a teammate!!! Manny has his moments, and Youk is being criticized for being a PLAYA, please. I should hope baseball players play the game with the respect, dignity and intensity Youk does!!!
Good reporting here from Gordon.
Who else is tired of this pseudo-god of walks?
Ever wonder what Casey Blake would do in this environment?
In case you didn't know: Youk rhymes with puke
Good commenting, commentators.Keep it up. Manny has been around baseball for a long time and I can't recall many arguments let alone having to smack a teammate. I think Youk stepped out of the realm of respect he should have for Manny in that clubhouse, and got a raw face for it.
Gangi you are ignorant
as usual the 3 jerks on WEEI (Dennis,Callahan and the worm meterperel)without any facts put all the blame on manny.Youkilis is very intense he treats every at bat as if it were life and eath.Until the facts come in the media should shut up and not speculate but that doesnt sell newspapers so thats why they like to fabricate crap like this.If this were say Ortiz I bet the 3 stooges on WEEI from 6-10am wouldnt have even commented but since they and the fatpig adams all hate manny its open season to pile on him
AS IT ALL COMES APART AT THE SEAMS
Manny was upset and confused by Youkilis' behavior because he has NO competitive spirit. Compare his lackluster performance as an outfielder to Youkilis' streak of games played without an error. Youkilis works at all aspects of his sport, Manny just coasts on natural ability as a hitter.
I HAVE A WORD OF ADVICE FOR ALL OF YOU, LOSERSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Get a life, you don't know Manny, you don't know Youk, YOU NEVER will and they don't give a S***T about u!!!! LOL I bet all of you are fatter, uglier, stupider and wish you could have 1 at bat in the big leagues... DORKS!
It all started because Manny didnt leave the bench when the fight happened. He was supposedly on the bench smoking ciggarettes while the whole fight was going on. Youkilis later confronted Manny about it, thats how it all happened.
It's all Greek to me.
Yankees announcers tonight were saying that the fight was brrought on from Youk taking offense to Manny not coming off the bench during the brawl
