New pitcher

Lefty Javier Lopez will take over the mound for the Red Sox to start the sixth. He relieves Chris Smith who allowed three hits, 1 earned run, a homer, and struck out three in four innings. He didn't register walk as he tossed 45 pitches, 30 for strikes.

Cardinals 8, Red Sox 2 (sixth inning)
