Papelbon coughs up another one

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff June 22, 2008 05:05 PM

The Red Sox were one strike away from beating the Cardinals, but Jonathan Papelbon was beaten on a splitter that he kept too high in the strike zone. Pinch hitter Adam Kennedy stroked a double over Coco Crisp's head in center to score Chris Duncan, who walked with two outs, to tie it, 3-3

It was Papelbon's fourth blown save.

We're in the bottom of the 9th.
