Papelbon, Delcarmen take the stage as Milli Vanilli

Move over Gino, there's a new video sensation in Boston that made its debut at Fenway Park last night during the rain delay before the Red Sox-Cardinals game.

Sox relievers Jonathan Papelbon and Manny Delcarmen performed and lip synched in a remix video parody of the Milli Vanilli song, Blame it on the Rain.

Milli Vanilli were a pop and dance music project from Germany that featured Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus. The duo won a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1990 for their debut album. But their rapid success was short-lived as their Grammy was revoked after it was revealed that the actual vocals on the record were not the voices of Morvan and Pilatus.

Without further ado, here's the new unnamed musical act featuring Papelbon and Delcarmen "performing" Blame it on the Rain:

  1. This is exactly the kind of behavior the club should discourage. Players would never get away with this on professional teams like Anahiem, New York or Minnesota but somehow it is condoned here in Boston. Both Papelpon and Delcarmen should concentrate on their games rather than wasting time and energy on such pathetic attempts at humor. Papelbon has a way to go until he achieves the respect and admiration of other teams and reaches the status of Rivera in NY. Delcarmen has been less than stellar this year and perhaps he should focus on how to punch out batters rather than perfecting his dance performance.

  1. I think you're right PJ. Delcarman just blew another game wide open last night.in relief of Wakefield. He couldn't get the strike out when he needed it and the Angels went on to win.
