Ramirez gives Red Sox a 3-0 lead

Posted by Nancy Marrapese-Burrell, Globe Staff June 5, 2008 06:18 PM

Manny Ramirez launched a James Shields changeup over the Monster seats in the first inning, giving Boston a 3-0 lead over the Tampa Bay Rays. Dustin Pedroia was hit by a pitch before J.D. Drew doubled off the wall to set the table for Ramirez. It was Manny's 503d career homer and his first at Fenway Park since April 19.

  1. Coco is a punk!. There was no reason for him to charge the mound. I'm glad he got his butt kicked. Francona should not have even started him todya knowing how fired up he was and ready for a fight. Other people could have gotten hurt in the scrum.
I used to like coco but after listening to him last night and seeing him just now, I have no respect for him.
