Schilling throws off mound; Sox lineup
Curt Schilling threw 25 pitches off the mound for the first time. According to Sox manager Terry Francona, Schilling said he was annoyed that he only threw 22 for strikes. Schilling will gradually increase his pitches and intensity over time.
Francona said it was a good sign that Schilling is already talking about dates in his mind about when he might pitch in a game again, but the manager said it was too premature to get into specific dates yet.
In the post-David Ortiz injury era, you're gonna see some different-looking lineups. Here's a new one:
LF- Ellsbury
2B- Pedroia
RF- Drew
DH- Ramirez
3B- Lowell
1B- Youkilis
C- Varitek
CF- Crisp
SS- Lugo
SP- Beckett
Notes: Francona said he dropped Youkilis down in the order because tonight's starter Edwin Jackson and tomorrow's starter James Shields both give the first baseman trouble. Youkilis is 1-for-11 against Jackson
