Sox on top

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff June 28, 2008 09:13 PM

Ick.

Yeah, that's for the Astros' pitching staff. Even with an ineffective Jon Lester giving up six earned runs, the Astros have given all that back. The Sox just took the lead with three runs in the sixth inning, the tie-breaking run coming on a sacrifice fly by Mike Lowell.

And that wasn't all. Kevin Youkilis just knocked in two more with a double, then was caught at third base trying to stretch it on the throw home.

So it's 9-6, Sox, with David Aardsma into the game.
