Sox pull to within one

With the bases loaded and nobody out in the bottom of the seventh, Manny Ramirez hit into a double play and Jacoby Ellsbury scored from third to cut the Red Sox deficit to 4-3. Righthanded reliever Russ Springer, who took over for an ineffective Ryan Flores, struck out Mike Lowell to end the inning and get the Cardinals out of the jam.
