Sox rout is on

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff June 15, 2008 03:04 PM

CINCINNATI - With three more runs in the fifth, the Red Sox are clobbering the Reds, 8-0, on a day when they don't have either Manny Ramirez or David Ortiz in the lineup.

This is a breeze for Josh Beckett.

J.D. Drew remains locked in. He walked with one out in the fifth, and after Mike Lowell reached on an infield hit (note: Lowell is not running very well and may be favoring a leg), Drew scored on Kevin Youkilis's single to left field.

After a walk to Jason Varitek, Coco Crisp singled in two more runs he has 4 RBIs on the day - giving Boston the 8-0 lead.
