Sox strand Ellsbury at 3rd

Nice work by Cards reliever Kyle McClellan in the 10th. After a leadoff double by Jacoby Ellsbury, who advanced to third on Dustin Pedroia's sacrifice bunt, he struck out J.D. Drew and got Sean Casey, pinch hitting for Brandon Moss, on a fly to left to squirm out of a tough spot.

McClellan, a righty, has held lefties to a .196 average with an effective cut fastball.
