Crisp start for Sox

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff June 17, 2008 07:29 PM

PHILADELPHIA - Coco Crisp went after a first-pitch slider by Jamie Moyer in the second inning and pulled it into the left-field bleachers with Jason Varitek aboard, giving the Sox a 2-0 lead over the 45-year-old lefty.

The teams played a scoreless first inning, quite a difference form last night when Jimmy Rollins opened with a home run. The Sox had two on in the first and couldn't score when Mike Lowell grounded out with runners at the corners and two outs.
