And again...

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff July 26, 2008 04:09 PM

Manny Ramirez got that same mixed reception, with the boos growing a bit louder, when he came to the plate in the first. He grounded into a fielder's choice, scoring Kevin Youkilis.

That brought the score to 2-0, Red Sox, with David Ortiz having driven in his first run since May 31.

With the RBI for Ramirez, he now has 1,667 for his career, tying him with Sammy Sosa for 23rd on the all-time RBI list.

  1. Type your comment here... The Sox are lucky to have him and I'm sick and tired of certain newspersons who have nothing better to do than unload on "Manny..." Manny is an important part of the Red Sox offense, and the players and the fans know this - I only hope it finally gets through to a certain sports newsperson on the Globe staff , , ,

  1. MANNY MAY HAVE GREAT NUMBERS BUT HE IS A DISGRACE TO THE GAME OF BASEBALL,HIS TEAM,HIS TEAMMATES AND THE FANS WHO HAVE SUPPORTED HIM DESPITE HIS ANTICS OVER THE YEARS.
WHEN HIS TIME TO BE ELECTED TO THE HALL OF FAME ARRIVES I HOPE THE VOTERS WILL REMEMBER THAT THIS MAN WENT INTO THE TANK ON AT LEAST TWO OCCASIONS WHEN IT MATTERED MOST.
AS DISSAPOINTED AS I AM WITH MANNY.I AM EVEN MORE SO WITH THE BOSTON RED SOX ORGANIZATION.THEY SHOULD HAVE SUSPENDED HIM FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON BUT LACKED THE GUTS TO DO SO.
I HAVE BEEN AN AVID SOX FAN SINCE 1944 BUT THEIR HANDLING OF MANNY BORDERS ON THE INSANE-----GO YANKEES!!!
