Bay to arrive Friday

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff July 31, 2008 10:31 PM

Got off the phone with Jason Bay not long ago.

He said he is getting on a plane tomorrow morning, and expects to be in Boston for tomorrow night's game. When asked if he'd been told where he might be batting in the lineup, he said, "Anywhere in that lineup is going to be pretty good. You guys [the media] are going to find out tomorrow same time I am."

And you should feel bad for his poor agent, Joe Urbon, who spent all day today flying from Boston to Seattle only to turn around tonight and hop on a redeye back to Boston. That's a lot of time in the air.

  1. JD Drew would fit well in the #4 slot. He's producing some impressive numbers this year.

  1. To the Boycott Fenway post, do it. We have seen Jason Bay several times in Pittsburgh, he is a good guy, good with the kids and team player. We are part of the Nation and with Ortiz, Drew and Bay we'll be fine!!!!!!!!!!!We need pitching.
