Coco uncorks a monster

Posted by Michael Vega, Globe Staff July 30, 2008 08:34 PM

Coco Crisp just homered into the Monster Seats, taking Angels' starter Joe Saunders deep for a two-run shot that rallied the Sox within 3-2 with no outs in the bottom of the sixth.

It was Crisp's first homer of the season at Fenway Park and first since June 17 at Philadelphia.

After Dustin Pedroia flied to center, Kevin Youkilis, who fouled one off his left foot in his first at-bat, showed no side effects when he laced a double off the wall in left, prompting Angels pitching coach Mike Butcher to make a mound visit.

After Youkilis advanced to third on Ortiz's ground out, Manny drew an intentional walk and Mike Lowell ended the inning by flying to right, leaving the tying run in Youkilis stranded at third.

After five innings, it's Angels, 3-2.

  1. Then the Angels scored 5 in the inning after, traded Manny and found themselves not even making the playoffs in two months...wasn't it like a month ago that Redcox cunts were writing the Yankees off for the season. Seems like both teams have 48 losses now. Oh BTW, did you hear the news about the Yankees robbing yet another team after the Pirates, in Detroit and filled the whole we had in offensive production for the catcher's spot. To the haters saying that Pudge isn't the same....well NO SHIT but he's better offensively that Molina and Moeller combined and we have so many options for the bullpen that it was a blessing that we got to trade Farnsy while his value was high.

  1. Dude, you're a Yankees fan posting a random message on a Sox blog, when you know its going to get pulled as soon as an editor sees it... get a life man.
